Course Overview
Oil & gas are vital sources of energy for the world because of its availability, versatility and reliability and will likely to remain so for many decades to come. This GLOMACS 10-Day Certification program in Global Oil and Gas Management is designed to provide participants with an intense training in the success factors in Global Upstream and Downstream Oil & Gas Management.
Innovative new technologies will be presented that are essential to this industry, such as, exploration, drilling, production, enhanced oil recovery, refining, petrochemicals, sales, distribution and trading of oil, gas and refined products. This will enable managers to understand future trends in the industry, sharpen their skills and future-proof their business. The drop in the price of oil while detrimental to the Upstream business but enhances the profitability of Downstream business as Refinery margins improve with cheaper feedstock. This and other critical concepts must be utilized to build busing practices and strategies in varying price scenarios to continually improve the return on investments to the stock-holders. To strengthen the participants’ understanding to manage business successfully, business case-studies, several tools and techniques will be presented and demonstrated. These include short technical videos, oil field simulator, refinery simulator, interactive oil market systems (NY, London, Dubai & Singapore), and business case studies.

Each module is structured and can be taken as a stand-alone training course; however, delegates will maximise their benefits by taking Module 1 and 2 back-to-back as a 2-week training course.

- Global and Regional Supplies; and Trade Routes of Oil, LNG and Refined Products
- Basic Principles in Pricing, Oil Supply-Demand Balance, and its Impact on Prices
- Fundamentals of All Transportation – Pipelines, FLNG, VLCC’s, Tankers and Chartering
- Refinery Optimization and Refinery Economics
- Petrochemicals and its Integration with Refining that Results in Improved Profitability
- Downstream Markets Structures and Trading
- Oil Market Derivatives – Futures, Forwards, Swaps, Option
- Managing Risk and Maximizing Downstream Profits
- Challenges to Petroleum Industry and Trends in New Technology
Certificates
- On successful completion of this training course, GLOMACS Certificate will be awarded to the delegates
- Continuing Professional Education credits (CPE) : In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsor, one CPE credit is granted per 50 minutes of attendance
